Muratovo lake

Muratovo Lake is located at an altitude of 2230 m a.s.l. in the Northern Pirin Mountains, not far from Vihren Hut. It is a suitable destination for a short hike in the Pirin Mountains. In less than an hour of walking from the aforementioned hut, you can reach a charming mountain lake and enjoy the fresh air along with the views of the nearby peaks. These views are particularly notable in the evenings when the light comes from behind, turning the lake's surface into a mountain mirror that reflects the shapes and colors of the surrounding ridges. It's no wonder that many photographers consider this place a favorite.

To get to Muratovo Lake, follow the marked path (white-yellow-white signs) that starts from the car park in front of Vihren Hut. The trail runs alongside the river, climbing gradually towards the lake. The last section, just before reaching the lake, is somewhat steep but rather short.

On the way back to Vihren Hut, if you prefer not to retrace your steps, there is another trail that starts 200 meters southeast of the lake. It crosses the river and continues southeast. Within about 20 minutes, this trail will lead you to another, larger mountain lake called Ribno Lake. Near the point where its waters flow out to form the Banderitsa River, you will find the marked path from Vihren Hut to Tevnoto Lake. Follow this path downhill, and within an hour, you will return to the car park.

Some of the nearby places of interest are:
Ribno Lake - 20 min
Dalgoto Lake - 1 h
Sinanitsa Hut - 2 h 30 min
The Spano Pole Shelter - 2 h 30 min
